Discover the Best Holiday Light Displays in the Triangle!

Whether you’re looking to take a romantic drive or just an easy way to entertain the family this Christmas, we’ve got the perfect thing to brighten up your holiday season. We’ve compiled an easy-to-navigate list of our favorite holiday lights in the triangle.

NC Chinese Lantern Festival (Cary, NC) - A unique and stunning Chinese paper lantern display at Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary. This event not only includes breathtaking light displays, but also offers nightly stage performances at 6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm.

Address: 8003 Regency Pkwy., Cary

Tickets: $25 per guest 3 years and older. There are other ticket options available, please check their website for details.

Dates: Runs through January 9th

Festival of Lights at Hill Ridge Farms (Youngsville, NC) - An enchanting drive-thru light display that the whole family will enjoy. Remember to turn off your lights before the drive begins.

Address: 703 Tarboro Rd., Youngsville

Tickets: $20 per car when paying cash. $23 for credit cards.

Dates: Open nightly from 5:30pm - 10pm until January 2nd

Lights on Cedar (Wake Forest, NC) - A family favorite! This neighborhood light display features inflatables, beautiful lights and you can even occasionally catch Santa on the weekends.

Tickets: FREE

Dates: Open nightly from 5pm - 10pm until December 31st

Piper Lights (Wake Forest, NC) - Winner of the Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC in 2016, this is a family-run light display, not a business, just created out of their love for the Christmas Spirit.

Tickets: FREE but they accept donations

Dates: Sunday - Thursday 5:30pm - 9pm and Friday & Saturdays 5:30pm - 10pm

WRAL Nights of Lights (Raleigh, NC) - A drive-thru light show located at Dorthea Dix Park presented by WRAL. This is their second year hosting this event in Raleigh. Lines can sometimes be a little long on peak nights, so plan accordingly and try to go on lower volume nights during the week

Tickets:  General admission for vehicles is $20 and $25 on “premium nights”, December 17-24. They also offer a VIP Fast Lane to avoid the long lines for $40 ($50 on premium nights).

Dates: Nightly from 6:30pm - 9:30pm until November 24th

Lake Myra Christmas Lights (Wendell, NC) - Lake Myra Christmas Lights display features a light show every 25 minutes with a 5 minute intermission between shows. Your family can experience the show from the comfort of their car (make sure to tune into 103.3 FM for music) or in person. There is also a walk-through portion to enjoy.

Dates: Nightly from 5:30pm - 10pm until December 31st

Christmas Lights on Holt (Apex, NC) - A popular lights display that just gets bigger every year. This display is free and the schedule fluctuates nightly. Please check out their page for their full hours. Bonus points, they offer a few dates for children with special needs to be able to view the lights before the crowds.

Meadow Lights (Benson) - Meadow Lights features 30 acres of lights! They’ve been displaying holiday cheer for over 40 years. In addition to viewing their light display, you can ride a train, carousel and even see Santa (through December 24th). 

Address: 4546 Godwin Lake Rd., Benson

Tickets: Admission and lights are free, tickets are required for the train & carousel.

Dates: Open Sunday - Thursday from 5pm - 10pm and Saturday & Sunday from 5pm - 11pm through December 31st

Lights on the Neuse at Boyette Family Farms (Clayton) - Take an old fashioned hayride to view their lights on the farm, visit with Santa and enjoy snacks from their concession.

Dates: Open December 17th - 24th from 6pm - 9pm

Houston Family Lights (Wake Forest) - Catch their incredible synchronized light show from 6pm - 10pm nightly.

Rogers Family Lights (Apex) - The Rogers Family puts on a special light display in honor of their son, Caden, who passed away from SMA. You can donate to research for a cure for SMA HERE. Tune into 93.5 FM.

Address: 700 Bay Bouquet Ln., Apex

Lights on the Meadow (Raleigh) - This home features tons of inflatables along with their light show. Tune into 88.3 FM.

Goldman Family Lights (Raleigh) - Not only do they have tandom lights & music, but they also have an incredible display of vintage blow molds. Listen to their music on your radio at 90.9 FM.

Gebhard Family Lights (Cary) - A community favorite! Music can be heard on 90.3.
